Uttaporn Nimmalaikaew Thai, b. 1980

Uttaporn Nimmalaikaew completed his undergraduate studies in Paintings from the Fine Arts program of the Faculty of Architecture, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. He later earned his Masters Degree in Paintings from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpting, and Printing, Silpakorn University.

 

Uttaporn possesses a particular interest in creating three-dimensional paintings through a process of drawing on gauze sheets, layering them atop each other to create a hologram-like effect. The resulting images appear obfuscated and airy, a departure from the original definitions of paintings as a two-dimensional medium.

 

Uttaporn first collaborated with SAC Gallery in 2019 with his exhibition “Reality as it isn’t”. Furthermore, he has submitted works to the Bangkok Art Biennale 2020, and has received international art awards, with his works appearing in numerous group exhibitions around the world. Currently, he works as a professor at the King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang alongside his personal art practice.

 

 

อัฐพร นิมมาลัยแก้ว สำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีจากสาขาจิตรกรรม ภาควิชาศิลปกรรม คณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์ สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง และระดับปริญญาโท สาขาจิตรกรรม คณะจิตรกรรม ประติมากรรมและภาพพิมพ์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร

 

อัฐพรสนใจการสร้างภาพจิตรกรรมสามมิติที่ผ่านกระบวนการวาดภาพบนผ้าโปร่ง แล้วนำมาซ้อนทับกันจนเกิดเป็นเหมือนภาพสามมิติ (Hologram) ภาพที่ปรากฏจึงมีลักษณะเบาบางและล่องลอย ซึ่งฉีกออกจากความหมายเดิมของจิตรกรรมที่ใช้ภาษาสื่อสารเพียงสองมิติ

 

อัฐพรร่วมงานกับ เอส เอ ซี แกลเลอรี ครั้งแรกเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2562 กับนิทรรศการเดี่ยวในชื่อ “ตาฝาด: Reality as it isn’t” นอกจากนี้ยังได้ร่วมแสดงผลงานใน Bangkok Art Biennale 2020 รวมถึงได้รับรางวัลศิลปกรรมระดับชาติและฝากผลงานในนิทรรศการกลุ่มไว้อีกมากมาย ปัจจุบันเขาเป็นอาจารย์ที่สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบังและยังทำงานศิลปะอย่างต่อเนื่อง
