From October 2026, SAC Residency will shift to a paid residency format. You are welcome to contact the Residency Manager for pricing information via the contact details below.

Since 2017, SAC Residency has offered its spaces to international artists and curators to access the network of Thai art communities in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, providing bridges to collaborators; fabricators; researchers; scholars and archives in Thailand. 

Our Bangkok location can accommodate up to 3 artists at a given time, with 1 private studio and a shared gallery suitable for making 2 or more studios or work spaces. With access to the heart of Bangkok’s art scene, SAC Residency’s prime location allows easy reach to key art locations such as the BACC (Bangkok Art and Culture Centre); Jim Thompson Art Center; 100 Ton Son Foundation; Silpakorn University Art Center and major contemporary art galleries in the city. Our Bangkok residency is ideal for artists and curators who prioritise networking and research. 

Our Chiang Mai location is situated inside Light Bulb studio, a dedicated building for artistic productions. We provide access to 6 shared studios and 1 private studio; lithography print studio; silk screen print; ceramics studio as well as multi-function room for events such as performances or film screenings. Our Chiang Mai residency offers a slower-paced experience where you can immerse in one of Thailand’s richest local cultures and be close to the artists community. 

Although we are a paid residency format, we do request residency proposals to make sure of achievability and realistic expectations of the residency outcome. We do also offer invitation letters, which may assist you with grant and funding applications in your country.
