Brightside

Wisanu Senkhaewsai know as Brightside graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Program in Animation and Visual Effects, College of Art, Media and Technology, Chiang Mai University. Brightside is a graphic designer and a cartoonist based on Chiang Mai, started working in the art field in 2014. He is interested in pop culture and information updated in society. Brightside has ongoing group and solo exhibitions. His work focuses on designing characters that represent stories of contemporary social movements. He also inserts humour and sarcasm, criticizing social and political situations in the country. Brightside’s works can be seen in social media and from artwork drawn by hand which illustrates current events of the country.

This work is a record of events that happened during the past years. It is about wars, battles, and the normal life of people in a lively, fantasy land. However, it also contains a paradox. The works in this series are divided into three pieces. The first piece represents chaos, the confrontation of normal people, and the invading men in suits. There are fights, relaxation, and normal lives of people. The second work, in front of the mountain background, portrays the gathering of people using naturally-created weapons to fight and withstand the power of intruders. Lastly, the third piece of this series presents a group of suited fanatics with full weapons. These people try to invade the peaceful land.

วิษณุ เส้นแก้วใส หรือ Brightside จบการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีสาขาอนิเมชั่น จากวิทยาลัยศิลปะ สื่อ และเทคโนโลยี มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ เป็นกราฟฟิกดีไซเนอร์ และนักวาดการ์ตูนจากจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ เริ่มทำงานด้านศิลปะตั้งแต่ปี 2014 มีความสนใจในเรื่อง pop culture และข้อมูลข่าวสารต่างๆ ที่หลั่งไหลอยู่ในสังคมปัจจุบัน Brightside มีนิทรรศกลุ่มและเดี่ยวอย่างต่อเนื่อง เน้นการหยิบเรื่องราวความเคลื่อนไหวทางสังคมร่วมสมัยมาสร้างสรรค์เป็นผลงานคาแรคเตอร์ดีไซน์ โดยถ่ายทอดผลงานผ่านสื่อทั้งทางโซเชียลมีเดียและการวาดด้วยมือที่พูดถึงเหตุการณ์บ้านเมืองในปัจจุบัน สอดแทรกอารมณ์ขัน และจิกกัดสังคมในเวลาเดียวกัน  

ผลงานชุดนี้เป็นการบันทึกเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นในช่วงปีที่ผ่านมา ในเรื่องของสงคราม การต่อสู้ และชีวิตปกติของผู้คนในดินแดนแห่งหนึ่งที่มีความสดใส แฟนตาซี แต่ก็แฝงไปด้วยความย้อนแย้ง ผลงานในชุดนี้แบ่งเป็นสามชิ้น จากชิ้นที่หนึ่งที่เล่าถึงเหตุการณ์ ความวุ่นวาย การเผชิญหน้าของคนปกติและชายชุดสูทที่เข้ามารุกราน มีทั้งการต่อสู้ การพักผ่อน และชีวิตปกติของผู้คน ผลงานชิ้นที่สองขยายให้เห็นถึงการรวมตัวต่อสู้ของผู้คน ในฉากหลังที่เป็นภูเขา มีการใช้อาวุธที่สร้างขึ้นจากธรรมชาติเพื่อต่อต้านอำนาจจากผู้บุกรุก และในผลงานชิ้นสุดท้ายของชุดนี้นำเสนอกลุ่มคนคลั่งในชุดสูท พร้อมอาวุธครบมือที่พยายามจะเข้ามาบุกรุกดินแดนอันสงบสุขของประชาชน
