To me, Wrap is home. Home is the first place that nurtures us to become who we are.
When I look back, most of our quality time was spent during dinner together as a family. My home has a ritual where my dad is always cooking for us, and the dinner will be ready at 7 pm every day. We’re sharing our days at school with mom and dad; they will be teaching us, supporting us and sometimes they will be angry at us. The conversation over dining is meaningful as it’s become a fond memory, especially when my dad isn’t around anymore. The ideas for this exhibition wrap around the story of my childhood and my family; I portray them through installations and painting on canvas.
