Aor Sutthiprapha Thai, b. 1979

Aor Sutthiprapha was born in 1979, Bangkok based ceramic artist and designer. She graduated with a Bachelor of Industrial design from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, as well as a Masters of Ceramic Arts from HDK - Academy of Design and Crafts, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She has had 5 solo exhibitions, and has had her work featured in exhibitions in many countries. A member of the IAC (International Academy of Ceramics), she is a ‘contemplative ceramic’ practitioner. Her practice is an interrelation between mental capacity and potential, like meditation. The fascination in clay has been implied in her works as an evidence of self-talk, an internal dialogue which is concerned with repetition and time-consuming working processes.

อ้อ สุทธิประภา เกิดเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2522 เป็นศิลปินและนักออกแบบงานศิลปะเซรามิก เกิดและพำนักอยู่ที่กรุงเทพฯ เธอสำเร็จการศึกษาชั้นปริญญาตรีสาขาการออกแบบอุตสาหกรรมจากจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ก่อนที่จะศึกษาต่อปริญญาโทสาขาศิลปะเซรามิก (Ceramic Arts) จาก HDK - Academy of Design and Crafts, University of Gothenburg ประเทศสวีเดน อ้อเคยจัดแสดงผลงานของตัวเองผ่านนิทรรศการเดี่ยวถึง 5 ครั้ง และยังได้รับเลือกให้ร่วมแสดงผลงานในนิทรรศการกลุ่มในหลากหลายประเทศ ทั้งยังเป็นสมาชิกขององค์กร IAC (International Academy of Ceramics) อีกด้วย อ้อจำกัดความการทำงานของตนเองว่าเป็น “การสร้างสรรค์เซรามิกแบบครุ่นคิด” โดยผลงานของเธอมักเล่นกับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความสามารถทางปัญญาและศักยภาพที่ซ่อนเร้น คล้ายกับการนั่งสมาธิ ความหลงใหลในดินเหนียวของเธอถูกสื่อออกมาในผลงานในฐานะหลักฐานของการสนทนากับตนเอง เป็นบทสนทนาภายในที่เกี่ยวข้องกับกระบวนการทำงานที่เคลื่อนไหวซ้ำๆ และใช้เวลานาน
