A timeless and enduring blue, it brings peace, calm and promise of protection mood wherever it discovered. The relatable and gentleness make it universal favorite that no one can’t deny. It couldn’t be surprised that ‘Classic Blue’ (PANTONE 19-4052) has been selected as a 2020 perfect selection. It’s a truly popular color indeed.
For the whole long past of sea and sky, it’s blue in common, for now, still blue. How about in the future? Surely, it will be blue forever. This color represents the timeless moment under the shifting of our disordered world. It has been used mostly in the exhibition “เราอยู่ในความทรงจำของทะเล The Sea Remembers Us” by the very effort heart of Niam Mawornkanong to show the beauty of sea and sky. Nowadays, the whole exhibition with all same color shade used is rarely to be found, however, Mawornkanong still contributes the ideal and harmony under this uncommonly choice of color technic. “Even though the picture has been distanced by the wall, the arts still present the harmonic of sea and sky, the truly great blue”.
‘All We can Perceive is Sea’
The first flame of this exhibition, “เราอยู่ในความทรงจำของทะเล The Sea Remembers Us”, was a guidance from the past of the artist. The art will present you the horizontal line where sea met sky, the line that will convince you the feeling of being in middle of its. We are surrounding with change and shift, originate all the matters, running in a circle and reflex our helplessly life of being under the sea that had been built by memory and imagination.
Imagine for being in the middle of deep blue sea and great blue sky, witnessing the nature’s change in a day. What is the concealment behind this immense sea? Whether a sea makes you happy, sorrow or lonely, the perfection of “เราอยู่ในความทรงจำของทะเล The Sea Remembers Us” exhibition depends on the idealistic question of ‘What are you seeing in the sea?’
สีน้ำเงินแทนความรู้สึกถึงความคลาสสิกไร้กาลเวลา ไม่ว่าจะพบเห็นอยู่ที่ใดก็จะนำพาความสันติ สงบ และปลอดภัยมาสู่จิตใจของมนุษย์ เป็นสีที่ให้ความรู้สึกเข้าถึงง่ายและสบายใจในขณะที่สังเกต แม้ดูเรียบง่ายแต่งดงามเสมอ เช่นนั้นจึงได้รับความนิยมอย่างกว้างขวางเสมอมา และนั่นคือเหตุผลที่ Pantone ได้เลือกสรรสีน้ำเงิน หรือ Classic Blue (รหัส PANTONE 19-4052) เป็นสีประจำปี 2563
หากเฝ้าสำรวจโทนสีในธรรมชาติ น้ำเงินคือเฉดสีเฉกเช่นเดียวกับผืนฟ้าและท้องทะเลที่ก่อกำเนิดขึ้นตั้งแต่เริ่มแรกก่อนกาลเวลา แม้เวลาผ่านไปก็ยังคงอยู่เสมอ สีน้ำเงินที่ให้ความรู้สึกไร้กาลเวลาสำหรับช่วงเวลาแห่งการเปลี่ยนแปลงในโลกอันแสนไม่แน่นอน จึงเป็นเฉดสีส่วนใหญ่ที่ถูกเลือกใช้ในนิทรรศการ “เราอยู่ในความทรงจำของทะเล The Sea Remembers Us” ที่รังสรรค์ด้วยความจริงใจอย่างตั้งใจจากหัวใจของศิลปิน เนียม มะวรคนอง สำหรับถ่ายทอดบรรยากาศของท้องฟ้าและทะเลทั้งช่วงเวลากลางวันและในยามค่ำคืน ซึ่งการเลือกใช้โทนสีเฉดเดียวกันในผลงานทั้งชุด ไม่อาจพบเห็นได้บ่อยนักในแวดวงการทำงานศิลปะ ถึงกระนั้นการตัดสินใจเช่นนั้นของศิลปินกลับเป็นสิ่งที่เชื่อมเนื้อหาหลักของนิทรรศการให้เป็นหนึ่งเดียวและยังคงความเป็นเอกลักษณ์อย่างไรอย่างนั้น ซึ่งเป็นที่น่าสังเกตว่า แม้ “เราอยู่ในความทรงจำของทะเล The Sea Remembers Us” จะถูกแยกการนำเสนอเรื่องราวด้วยผนังกั้น แต่ในภาพทะเลก็ยังคงปรากฏภาพท้องฟ้า เช่นเดียวกับภาพท้องฟ้าที่ยังต้องอยู่คู่กับท้องทะเลเสมอ
‘อยู่ที่ไหนก็เห็นแต่ทะเล’
ทะเลคือสารจากความทรงจำของศิลปินที่ทำให้นิทรรศการแห่งนี้มีตัวตน สู่ปรากฏการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นระหว่างเส้นขอบฟ้าซึ่งเป็นจุดตัดของผืนน้ำอันห่างไกลและขอบฟ้าสุดสายตา ระยะเส้นขอบฟ้าที่ขนานกันทุกองศาทั่วทุกมุมห้องชวนให้รู้สึกถึงการอยู่ท่ามกลางท้องทะเลแห่งหนึ่งตามแต่ที่คุณจะรู้สึกและสังเกตได้ รอบกายคือการเปลี่ยนผันของช่วงเวลาในระหว่างวัน สู่การก่อกำเนิดของสิ่งต่างๆ สับเปลี่ยนหมุนเวียนกันไป คล้ายเราเฝ้ามองความผันแปรอย่างไม่ตั้งใจของธรรมชาติที่อยู่รอบตัวซึ่งประกอบขึ้นจากจินตนาการและความทรงจำ
