\’tip-,fas\: a particular design of letters inspired by type of lives, loves and relationships in the family

The familiar sound returns…

Today, the sound of typewriting occurs again after disappeared for a long time since the typing school, the Suppakijjumnong family’s business, was shut down due to the dominance of computers. But this time, the role of typewriter is different from the past; it is not used for creating any documents. Instead, Thanathorn Suppakijjumnong, the artist and a daughter of Suppakijjumnong family brings back the old typewriter to create works of art in a unique style. Every type tapped on a paper is not only writing words for linguistic meanings; but the words also represent the relationship, bond and love in Suppakijjumnong family.

The exhibition “Typeface” will be held on the second floor of Art Centre Bldg., SAC Gallery from 16 August until 16 September 2018. The official opening ceremony will be held on 16 August 2018, 6:00PM onwards.

เสียงที่คุ้นเคยดังขึ้นอีกครั้ง…

วันนี้เสียงเคาะแป้นพิมพ์ดีดดังรัวขึ้นอีกครั้งหลังจากที่เคยเงียบลงไป..เมื่อโรงเรียนสอนพิมพ์ดีดธุรกิจในอดีตของครอบครัว “สรรพกิจจำนง” ต้องหยุดทำการเพราะเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์เข้ามามีบทบาททดแทน แต่สถานะในวันนี้ของเครื่องพิมพ์ดีดไม่เหมือนเดิม เครื่องมือไม่ได้ถูกใช้เพื่อสร้างเอกสารใดๆอีกต่อไป เพราะศิลปิน ธนธร สรรพกิจจำนง  ผู้เป็นทายาทของครอบครัว นำเครื่องพิมพ์ดีดมาใช้สร้างผลงานศิลปะที่มีอัตลักษณ์ใหม่ ทุกสัมผัสของแป้นอักษรเครื่องพิมพ์ดีดที่กระทบลงบนหน้ากระดาษสร้างภาษาที่ไม่ใช่เพียงการร้อยเรียงถ้อยคำเพื่อสื่อสารความหมายเท่านั้น แต่กลับแสดงถึงภาษาแห่งความสัมพันธ์ สายใยชีวิตจากความรักในครอบครัวของ “สรรพกิจจำนง”

นิทรรศการ “Typeface” จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 16 สิงหาคม - 16 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2561 ณ ชั้น 2 อาคารหอศิลป์ (ตึกใหญ่) เอส เอ ซี แกลเลอรี (SAC Gallery) โดยมีพิธีเปิดนิทรรศการในวันที่ 6 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2561 ตั้งแต่เวลา 18:00 น. เป็นต้นไป
