Ghost: 2561 - The Capital of Accumulation (2010) by Raqs Media Collective

Ghost Foundation and OPEN FIELD are delighted to invite you to attend Ghost:2561 Public Opening on Thursday October 11th, 2018 from 13:00-19:00 hrs. at 100 Tonson, ARTIST+RUN, BANGKOK CITYCITY GALLERY, CARTEL Artspace, Doxza Art Lab, The Jim Thompson House Museum, Nova Project Space, SAC Gallery and Gallery VER.

At SAC Gallery, Ghost:2561 will present THE CAPITAL OF ACCUMULATION (2010) by Raqs Media Collective

Ghost is a video and performance art series that will happen every three years in Bangkok, Thailand. The first edition, Ghost:2561, is curated by Korakrit Arunanondchai and will take place throughout Bangkok from October 11th – 28th 2018.

Video installations by Ian Cheng, Stephanie Comilang, Josh Kline, Metahaven, Jon Rafman, Raqs Media Collective, Rachel Rose, Chulayarnnon Siriphol, Hito Steyerl, Jon Wang, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, and Samson Young. Performances by boychild, Thanapol Virulhakul and Total Freedom.

The exhibition “Ghost: 2561 - The Capital of Accumulation (2010)” will be held on the second floor of Art Centre Bldg., SAC Gallery from 11-28 October 2018. The official opening ceremony will be held on 11 October 2018, 6:00PM onwards.

สำหรับ เอส เอ ซี แกลเลอรี (ชั้น 2) จะมีการจัดแสดงผลงานวิดีโอ THE CAPITAL OF ACCUMULATION (2558) โดย รักซ์ มีเดีย คอลเลคทีฟ

Ghost คือซีรีส์การแสดงผลงานวิดีโอและศิลปะการแสดงจัดขึ้นทุกๆ สามปีที่กรุงเทพฯ ประเทศไทย ในงานครั้งแรก Ghost:2561 กรกฤต อรุณานนท์ชัย รับหน้าที่เป็นภัณฑารักษ์ โดยจะจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 11–28 ตุลาคม 2561 สำหรับผลงานที่จะนำเสนอในงานครั้งแรกนี้ ประกอบไปด้วยงานของศิลปิน เช่น เอียน เฉิง, สเตฟานี โกมิเลง, จอช ไคลน์, เมตาฮาเว่น, จอน ราฟแมน, กลุ่มศิลปิน รักซ์ มีเดีย คอลเลคทีฟ, เรเชล โรส, จุฬญาณนนท์ ศิริผล, ฮิโต สเตเยิร์ล, จอน หวัง, อภิชาติพงศ์ วีระเศรษฐกุล และแซมซัน ยัง รวมถึงการแสดงสดโดย บอยไชลด์, ธนพล วิรุฬหกุล และโทเทิล ฟรีดอม

นิทรรศการ “Ghost: 2561 - The Capital of Accumulation (2010)” จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 11-28 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2561 ณ ชั้น 2 อาคารหอศิลป์ (ตึกใหญ่) เอส เอ ซี แกลเลอรี (SAC Gallery) โดยมีพิธีเปิดนิทรรศการในวันที่ 11 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2561 ตั้งแต่เวลา 18:00 น. เป็นต้นไป

About Raqs Media Collective

Raqs Media Collective (Monica Narula, Jeebesh Bagchi & Shuddhabrata Sengupta) follows its self-declared imperative of ‘kinetic contemplation’ to produce a trajectory that is restless in its forms and methods, yet concise with the infra procedures that it invents. The collective makes contemporary art, edits books, curates exhibitions, and stages situations. It has collaborated with architects, computer programmers, writers, curators, and theatre directors, and has made films. It co-founded Sarai—the inter-disciplinary and incubatory space at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi—in 2001, where it initiated processes that have left deep impact on contemporary culture in India.

รักซ์ มีเดีย คอลเลคทีฟ (โมนิก้า นารูล่า, จีเบช บักจี และชัตภัทร เศญกุปตา) ทำงานตามประกาศ “ไตร่ตรองอย่างไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด” ซึ่งเป็นสารระสำคัญของกลุ่มในการสร้างแนวทางที่ไม่หยุดนิ่งทั้งในรูปแบบและกลวิธีการนำเสนอ หากกระชับได้ความในโครงสร้างกระบวนการที่กลุ่มคิดค้นขึ้น กลุ่มทำงานศิลปะร่วมสมัย บรรณาธิการหนังสือเล่ม คัดเลือกงานมาแสดงในนิทรรศการ และขึ้นเวทีกิจกรรมต่างๆ รักซ์ มีเดีย คอลเลคทีฟยังร่วมมือกับสถาปนิก นักเขียนโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ นักเขียน ภัณฑารักษ์ และผู้กำกับละครเวที และได้สร้างภาพยนตร์หลายเรื่อง นอกจากนี้ยังเป็นผู้ร่วมก่อตั้ง Sarai พื้นที่บ่มเพาะแบบสหศาสตร์ที่ศูนย์การการเรียนรู้เพื่อการพัฒนาสังคม เดลลี ในปี 2544 ณ ที่นี้ ที่รักซ์ มีเดีย คอลเลคทีฟริเริ่มกระบวนการที่สร้างแรงผลักดันอย่างลึกซึ้งในวัฒนธรรมร่วมสมัยในอินเดีย

Initiated by Korakrit Arunanondchai and Akapol Sudasna, the Ghost Foundation’s mission is to create a platform for video and performance art in Thailand. It aspires to create and foster a community around video and performance art by organising the Ghost series and activities related to it.
